Our mission is to enhance and extend productive and healthy life through preeminent research and education on aging. The primary geographical focus will be Southern California, but the impact may extend to a national and international audience.

We build on UCLA's recognized excellence in care of older adults: U.S. News and World Report has named UCLA's geriatrics program #1 in America since 1992.

We involve UCLA's foremost specialists to support interdisciplinary research and education in fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Biochemistry, Economics, Psychology, Social Welfare, and Public Health.

Since we began in 1991, we have promoted community education and life-long learning through programs like

Memory Training, Senior Scholars, community meetings, newsletters, Mentor Program and Guided Autobiography.

The UCLA Center on Aging holds an Annual Research Conference where UCLA faculty present the latest gerontological discoveries to the campus and community.Technology and Aging Conference, this is one of the first conferences of its kind. The meeting will feature national leaders on the topic, who will explore cutting-edge innovations that promise to help people live better longer. pilot grants for UCLA researchers conducting promising projects on aging. We sponsor an internationally recognized professor's research in the neurosciences.
