Dr. Laks is a professor of cardiothoracic surgery at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He founded the UCLA Heart-Lung Transplant program and the Pediatric Mechanical Assistant Device program.

Mrs. Perloff will receive the UCLA Center on Aging's Lifetime Achievement Award, for her accomplishements on the UCLA campus, at the Center, and throughout the community.

The Center on Aging is presenting a new conference, the "UCLA Technology and Aging Conference: Successful Aging In A High-Tech World."
