Aging Forecast

The UCLA Center on Aging presents:

The First Annual Aging Forecast

Featuring

Gary Small, MD, Shinyi Wu, PhD and
John Morris, MD

Thursday, September 9, 2004

The Aging Forecast will explore the demographic and economic impact of
age-related conditions and issues on Southern California and U.S. populations aged 65 years and older. It is based upon the concept of the UCLA Anderson Forecast, which predicts local and national economic trends.

The Forecast will address the impact on today’s population as well as make projections for 10 and 20 years in the future. In addition, it will assess the influence of potential interventions on these projections, based on epidemiological and clinical trials data. The initial project of the Forecast will be to focus on age-related memory loss and dementia.
